I am an associate professor of accounting and Director of the Accounting Program at the Else School of
Management at Millsaps College in Jackson, MS. I am a licensed CPA in Texas. I am a member of the AAA,
Auditing and Accounting and Behavioral Organizations sections.
Prior to moving to the Deep South in 1995, I spent most of my life in Texas. I grew up in Lubbock, Texas and
attended Texas Tech University . (Go Red Raiders!) After receiving my Master's degree, I moved to Dallas and
began working as an auditor for Price Waterhouse. Later, I became the Director of Internal Audit for Unigate
Restaurants which owned the Black-Eyed Pea (recently purchased by Denny's) and Taco Bueno . A few synapses
failed, and I decided to leave my job and pursue a doctorate. I attended Oklahoma State University in Stillwater,
OK, the place where I met my husband, Rick (and the home of Eskimo Joe's ).
When I'm not working I'm most likely to be hanging out with our daughter Kelsey (see pictures of her here), watching movies, or reading.

My primary teaching interests are auditing, accounting information systems and financial
accounting. My research interests include assurance services, accounting education,
communication and gender issues in public accounting.
